The carriers are now in mediation under the auspices of the National Mediation Board (NMB) with six unions who have been bargaining together with the railroads.  NCCC is working with the NMB to forge a dialogue with these organizations to address the serious challenges facing the rail industry and its employees.

The unions in mediation include:  American Train Dispatchers Association; International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers; International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers; Transportation Communications International Union (TCU) and Brotherhood of Railway Carmen (a division of TCU), and the Transport Workers Union.

Negotiations are continuing with the other unions in national handling.
