FREIGHT RAILROADS LAUNCH NEW BARGAINING ROUND WITH LABOR UNIONS
The nation’s major freight railroads are launching contract negotiations with 12 labor unions representing nearly 125,000 unionized rail employees. Collective bargaining between railroads and labor unions is governed by the Railway Labor Act and can take two or more years to complete.
